Nursery Practitioner from East Greenwich Skydived 15,000ft for Charity
Nursery practitioner Aimee from Bright Horizons East Greenwich Day Nursery and Preschool, has taken part in a skydive at the North London Skydive Centre, to raise money for the Bright Horizons Foundation for Children.
The skydive took place on Thursday 20th July where Aimee made the 15,000ft jump for charity.
Aimee, Room Leader at East Greenwich Day Nursery and Preschool said: “I saw this as a great opportunity to raise money for the Foundation to go towards their mission on providing Bright Spaces for vulnerable children. The cause means a lot to me because I’ve seen children and families at a disadvantage and they find themselves in areas which are supposed to offer support, yet they aren’t very relaxing settings for children to be in. That’s why it’s so important we fundraise for the Foundation to continue to provide relaxed and safe places for children and young families who need it.”
The Bright Horizons Foundation for Children is focused on improving the lives of vulnerable children and families experiencing crisis and disadvantage. Its Bright Spaces are enriching play environments for children impacted by domestic violence, abuse, homelessness, parental imprisonment, and ill health, and are designed to help children heal from trauma through play.
Aimee comments: “I really want to help give something to the community that I have grown up in, London is a great place but there are a lot of areas that need aid, Bright Spaces are doing a lot to help this.”
She has so far raised £1,319, exceeding her original target of £1,000. You can donate to her Just Giving page here.
