Mission

Bright Spaces are the Foundation’s core programme. Bright Spaces are warm, safe, enriching play environments located in homeless shelters, domestic violence refuges, hospitals, police stations and prison visits halls.

They are used by our Bright Space partners for a range of purposes, including play, therapeutic services, family visits and child protection interviews. The Foundation believes that we can make the world a better place by working collaboratively to strengthen families, support our communities, share our knowledge, and encourage others to join us in making a difference.

History

The Bright Horizons Foundation for Children was founded in the US in 1999 and established in the UK in 2005 to fulfil the mission of Bright Horizons® to “make a difference in the lives of children and families.” Through the Foundation, Bright Horizons leverages its expertise, resources and partnerships to support non-profit organisations with programmes that instil a positive self-concept and self-esteem in children; provide children and families with nurturing, creative environments; and support and facilitate the development of strong families.
