HR Director at Bright Horizons Takes a Plunge in the Sea for a Good Cause

Janine Leightley, HR Director at Bright Horizons has raised over £1,250 from participating in the invigorating “Big Dip in Deal” to raise funds for the Bright Horizons Foundation for Children.

The plunge took place on Boxing Day, where Janine along with members of her family, took a dip in the cold sea in Deal, Dover. The Big Dip in Deal is an annual event involving a daring plunge into the chilly waters where the community can get involved to raise money for a good cause.

The Bright Horizons Foundation for Children is a registered charity focused on improving the lives of vulnerable children and families experiencing crisis and disadvantage. Its Bright Spaces are enriching play environments for children impacted by domestic violence, abuse, homelessness, parental imprisonment, and ill health, and are designed to help children heal from trauma through play. In 2024 the Bright Horizons Foundation for Children will be opening its 100th Bright Space further extending its support to more vulnerable children in communities across the UK.

Janine Leightley said: “We wanted to challenge ourselves for such an important charity, The Bright Horizons Foundation for Children. They dedicate their time creating nurturing Bright Spaces for vulnerable children who need support and a safe place to go to. Knowing we raised this amount for such a good cause made this chilly plunge in the sea worth it!”
