New Bright Space Opens for Homeless Families in Brent

November 25, 2019

The Bright Horizons Foundation for Children officially opened a new Bright Space for the Depaul charity in Brent on 25th November 2019.

The Bright Space, located in a Depaul domestic abuse refuge, has transformed a communal living space into a comfortable, inviting and child-friendly place in which children can play, learn, relax and have fun; and a place where friendships can be developed to support the families.

This is the third Bright Space to open for Depaul, in memory of Lorraine Thompson by her twin sister Karren. Lorraine worked in Bright Horizons’ nurseries for more than 20 years and was passionate about helping families through the Bright Space programme.  Karren, her colleagues, friends, and Bright Horizons nursery families raised over £9,000 to support the cost of the project, supplemented by a grant from the Bright Horizons Foundation for Children.

Karren said, “Lorraine was determined to make a difference to the lives of vulnerable children and families. To be able to create these Bright Spaces in her memory means so much to me and my family.”
